Here & There

An ongoing collaborative body of work between Catherine Hellsten and glass artist, Jon Rees. Geographic locations that possess a strong “Sense of Place” have an identity and character that can be perceived by inhabitants and visitors. What characteristics contribute to this sense of place? Geography, culture, socio-economics, and history all contribute the the identity of an area. This work investigates how these attributes can be portrayed through composite imagery and sculpture to convey an understanding of a locale’s Sense of Place to the viewer.
